【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoverstheclassification,composition,dimension,andphysicalpropertiesofmineralfiber(rock,slag,orglass)semi-rigidandrigidboardintendedfortheuseasthermalinsulationonsurfacesoperatingattemperaturesbetween0x00B0;F(-18x00B0;C)and1800x00B0;F(982x00B0;C).Forspecificapplications,theactualtemperaturelimitsshallbeagreeduponbetweenthesupplierandthepurchaser.1.2Forsatisfactoryperformance,properlyinstalledprotectivevaporretarderorbarriersshallbeusedonbelowambienttemperatureapplicationstoreducemovementofwaterthroughoraroundtheinsulationtowardsthecoldersurface.Failuretouseavaporretarderorbarriercanleadtoinsulationandsystemdamage.RefertoPracticeC1338toaidmaterialselection.Althoughvaporretarderpropertiesarenotpartofthisspecification,propertiesrequiredinSpecificationC1136arepertinenttoapplicationsorperformance.1.3Theorientationofthefiberswithintheboardsisprimarilyparalleltotheprincipalsurface(face).Thisspecificationdoesnotcoverfabricatedpipeandtankwrapinsulationwheretheinsulationhasbeencutandfabricatedtoprovideafiberorientationthatisperpendiculartothesurface(face).1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoprovidetheperformancerequirementsofhourly-ratedfiresystems.Consultthemanufacturerfortheappropriatesystem.1.5Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
